Authority talks on B-BBEE and realty

This is according to Duncan de Groot, Executive Chairman of the Empowerment Verification Agency of South Africa. He was the main speaker at an event, which took place at Sorcery Coffee Roasters situated at Diep in die Berg in Pretoria on February 7, 2023.

De Groot addressed the legislation and compliance with regard to B-BBEE and the real estate market in great detail.

"Every sector is different," he stressed, "we look at various points and requirements; not only at a business's ownership and/or the management structure.

"We take skills development as well as enterprise and supplier development into account when determining the rating of a realty firm."
